    Yes, you need a ticket to visit the Alhambra. Ideally you should book in advance as demand is high and availability is limited.

Where to buy your tickets for the Alhambra?

    There are various ways to buy your Alhambra ticket. You can buy them:

High season runs from March to May and from August to early November.

    Yes, you can buy your ticket at the ticket office but you can only buy it for the same day. The likelihood of finding available tickets is very low, as most tickets sell out far in advance. But occasionally, due last minute cancellations, a limited number tickets may become available. As tickets sell out fast and many people visiting Granada look for last minute tickets go as early as possible to the ticket office to increase your chances of finding a ticket.

Which Alhambra Ticket should I buy?

    The answer depends on what you want to see and if you want to visit during the day or night. There are a number of ticket options available which are described in more detail in our Ticket Guide. However, the most popular ticket option is Alhambra general ticket which gives you day time access to the entire complex - including the Nasrid Palace. Being the most popular ticket option it’s also the one that sells out the fastest.

What to do when tickets are sold out?

    The best thing to do is to book a tour or ticket with an audio guide. Both of these tend to have better last minute availability and are a great way to experience the Alhambra. The Granada card (providing access to the Alhambra as well as other sites in Granada) is also a good option and easier to come by if you are close to your travel date. Alternatively, you can try to get some last minute tickets at the ticket office on the day if there are cancellations and you get there early. Finally, try asking your hotel as they may be able to give you some insider suggestions.

What is the cheapest ticket to visit the Alhambra?

    The cheapest ticket option for the Alhambra is the Alhambra Gardens and Generalife Night Ticket which costs 5.30 euro and gives you access to the Pavillon, Paseo de los Nogales of Generalife, New Gardens or Lower Gardens of the Generalife and Generalife Palace. However, the cheapest day time ticket is the Gardens, Generalife and Alcazaba Ticket which costs 7.42 euro.

    To see all of the most important areas of the Alhambra it takes about 3-4 hours. Expect to cover about 4 km by foot so bring comfortable shoes!

    Spring and Fall are the best times of year to visit the Alhambra. The weather is good in this period and you will avoid the scorching heat of the Andalusian summer. Winter can also be a nice time to visit if you want to avoid the crowds. If you do visit in the summer try to go in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the hottest time of the day.

    The entirety of the Alhambra is accessible by wheelchair, but it is necessary to follow a special route. Wheelchairs are provided upon request at the venue, but cannot be booked in advance.

How to get to the Alhambra?

    Getting to the Alhambra is very easy. It’s a short walk from the center of town though you have to walk up a somewhat steep hill. Alternatively, you can catch a bus (the C30, C32 or the C35 stop in front of the Alhambra) or you can take a taxi.

When is the Alhambra Open?

    From the 15th of October to the 31st of March opening hours are from 8:30 to 18:00, while from 1st April to the 14th October they are from 8:30 to 20:00.
